Thunder Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

Nenad Krstic's arrival in Oklahoma City wasn't the typical free-agent signing. Not only did the Thunder sign the Serbian center to an offer sheet in the middle of the season, the deal was further complicated by Krstic playing overseas.

Oklahoma City helped negotiate a buyout with the Russian club Lyubertsy of Superleague A. NBA teams can pay up to $500,000 to satisfy a buyout.

Bring him in now for $16 million over three years is a bargain if Krstic is as healthy as team doctors believe and his play in Russia suggest. The 25-year-old 7-footer with 18-foot range and high basketball IQ would have heavily been pursued this summer.

"We're no different than any other team in the league," general manager Sam Presti said.

Westbrook’s honor gives dismal Thunder bright spot (AP)

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook didn't know there was such a thing as a rookie of the month award in the NBA -- until he won it. "I think it's good," Westbrook said of receiving the Western Conference honor for December, "but at the same time, we're trying to continue to win and continue to work hard." Wins have been hard to come by this season for Oklahoma City, which is 4-30...

Thunder hire Adams to complete coaching staff (AP)

Longtime NBA assistant Ron Adams has been hired to complete Oklahoma City Thunder interim coach Scott Brooks' staff. Adams' hiring fills the vacancy created when Brooks was promoted to replace fired head coach P.J. Carlesimo.
Thunder Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

Trade rumors are inevitable for a team out of the playoff race and building for the future. With the worst record in the NBA and one of the lowest payrolls, a number of Thunder players can expect to hear their names bandied about leading up to the trade deadline.

Among those who figure to be targeted: Joe Smith, Nick Collison, Chris Wilcox, Earl Watson, Desmond Mason and Damien Wilkins. Each is considered a solid veteran with a manageable contract.

"I just learned through the years to deal with the situation at hand," Smith said. "Whatever team you're on, you're still going to war with those guys. Whatever happens, happens."

Thunder players are trying not to pay attention to the speculation.

Krstic joins Thunder after Nets don’t match offer (AP)

Nenad Krstic's second chance in the NBA developed quickly. Two weeks ago, Krstic was playing for Triumph Lyubertsy of Russia's Superleague A. On Tuesday, the 25-year-old from Serbia became the newest member of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Because Krstic was a restricted free agent, the New Jersey Nets had a week to match Oklahoma City's offer sheet to Krstic, a 7-footer who was picked 24th overall in...
