OKC Thunder ready for first NBA playoff appearance

March 23, 2010

It looks like the Thunder are ready to make a run in the NBA post-season, and Thunder playoff tickets are starting to pick up in sales. This has been a special year for the Oklahoma City Thunder, but now that the pressure is on expect Thunder ticket sales to really pick up. The team has had some exciting games this season but we all know the real action starts when Thunder playoff tickets are on sale. You don’t want to miss being at the Ford Center, so get out there with the rest of the fans! Can Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook lead this team to an NBA Finals victory? Well its tough to tell right now, but you can get a first-hand look in person. This is the best time of the year so stock up on basketball tickets so that you can experience the thrill. You know that Scott Brooks is going to have these Thunder fired up, and seeing the intensity of an NBA basketball playoff game in person is something everyone should experience. They could be making NBA playoff history happen right before your eyes so don’t pass up a chance at the fun. These Thunder have played great basketball and are going to be doing their best for anyone with Thunder playoff tickets, but the NBA is a tough league. Anything can happen when you have a five game series and each possession has massive implications. And when the rounds get deeper and it switches to a seven game series, well that’s when the NBA playoffs get really fun. You never know when NBA playoffs history is going to be made, and seeing the action in person is sure to be a thrill.

There are going to be some tough teams that will be trying to make life difficult for the Thunder in the playoffs. The NBA seems to be a lot more competitive than it has in recent years, so the outcome of playoff games could see some real upsets. At the top of the list of tough teams is the Los Angeles Lakers. They’ve been looking sharp and the fans with Lakers playoff tickets aren’t going to be very hospitable, so the Thunder will need to play their best basketball to win. And you know that the Nuggets are not going to take it easy. With Carmelo Anthony on the floor these games are never easy, and you can bet that Denver Nugget playoffs tickets will be going fast in Colorado! Who the Thunder will play is still up in the air, but if its the Jazz they could be in for a battle. They have fans that can compete with the best of ‘em in terms of loudness, and they won’t be shy about buying Utah Jazz playoffs tickets this year.

The NBA Finals will be here before you know it so grab some Thunder tickets and be there for the fun. Seeing the NBA playoffs live is an experience you can’t beat, so if you are able to make it out you really should. You can find cheap Thunder playoff tickets all over the internet, but the thing is you need to shop around. The place I normally start when looking for NBA playoff tickets is Ticket Liquidator because I’ve never had a problem with them and they seem to have the best prices online. Since it is the NBA playoffs you should expect prices to be a bit higher, but you don’t need to pay a fortune for the chance to take in an NBA game. Find the best Thunder playoff tickets you can find so that you can really have a good time. This is going to be a really sweet NBA post-season for the Thunder, so get your tickets now and get in on the fun.

Nenad Krstic's arrival in Oklahoma City wasn't the typical free-agent signing. Not only did the Thunder sign the Serbian center to an offer sheet in the middle of the season, the deal was further complicated by Krstic playing overseas.

Oklahoma City helped negotiate a buyout with the Russian club Lyubertsy of Superleague A. NBA teams can pay up to $500,000 to satisfy a buyout.

Bring him in now for $16 million over three years is a bargain if Krstic is as healthy as team doctors believe and his play in Russia suggest. The 25-year-old 7-footer with 18-foot range and high basketball IQ would have heavily been pursued this summer.

"We're no different than any other team in the league," general manager Sam Presti said.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook didn't know there was such a thing as a rookie of the month award in the NBA -- until he won it. "I think it's good," Westbrook said of receiving the Western Conference honor for December, "but at the same time, we're trying to continue to win and continue to work hard." Wins have been hard to come by this season for Oklahoma City, which is 4-30...

Kevin Durant had just made a clutch 3-pointer over Carmelo Anthony with 2.7 seconds left, putting the Oklahoma City Thunder on the verge of an unexpected victory over the Northwest Division-leading Denver Nuggets. Then friend Carmelo Anthony upstaged him. Anthony took the ensuing inbounds pass from Kenyon Martin and answered with a 3-pointer of his own from the corner with 0.1 seconds left, capping...

Scott Brooks figured his Oklahoma City Thunder team had been in enough close games in the fourth quarter to eventually win one. Their time came Wednesday night. The Thunder pulled away in the third quarter and held on for a 107-100 victory over the Golden State Warriors. It was only the fourth win of the season for Oklahoma City, which snapped a five-game losing streak.

Longtime NBA assistant Ron Adams has been hired to complete Oklahoma City Thunder interim coach Scott Brooks' staff. Adams' hiring fills the vacancy created when Brooks was promoted to replace fired head coach P.J. Carlesimo. Adams has served as an assistant coach for the Milwaukee Bucks (1998-2003), Philadelphia 76ers (1994-96) and San Antonio Spurs (1992-1994).

Trade rumors are inevitable for a team out of the playoff race and building for the future. With the worst record in the NBA and one of the lowest payrolls, a number of Thunder players can expect to hear their names bandied about leading up to the trade deadline.

Among those who figure to be targeted: Joe Smith, Nick Collison, Chris Wilcox, Earl Watson, Desmond Mason and Damien Wilkins. Each is considered a solid veteran with a manageable contract.

"I just learned through the years to deal with the situation at hand," Smith said. "Whatever team you're on, you're still going to war with those guys. Whatever happens, happens."

Thunder players are trying not to pay attention to the speculation.

Krstic joins Thunder after Nets don’t match offer (AP)

December 31, 2008

Nenad Krstic's second chance in the NBA developed quickly. Two weeks ago, Krstic was playing for Triumph Lyubertsy of Russia's Superleague A. On Tuesday, the 25-year-old from Serbia became the newest member of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Because Krstic was a restricted free agent, the New Jersey Nets had a week to match Oklahoma City's offer sheet to Krstic, a 7-footer who was picked 24th overall in...
